Johanne Lauktien E-RYT200, YACEP, certified in Yoga for Survivors® and Cancer Exercise Specialist® is the founder of Yoga Instruction & Healing for Cancer Survivors LLC, created as a tool for recovery to help ease the unique physical and emotional needs of cancer patients and survivors. My yoga classes are individualized programs part of Yoga Survivorship Series which are based in contemplative practices like MBSR techniques.

experienced in assessment protocol, including goniometry to measure joint ROM, postural assessments and girth measurements to monitor for lymphedema.
All exercises routines are designed specifically for patients coping with cancer; with an emphasis on regaining strength and flexibility, correcting postural deviations, improving lymph flow, and preventing and/or managing the debilitating side-effects of cancer surgery and treatment.”

Johanne has trained in the Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions. While living in London, she studied yoga for stress management at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. She continued to immerse herself studying with world-renowned teachers like Richard Freeman, Tim Miller, David Swenson, Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor. Under the guidance of Spiritual Yoga Master Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati, she trained in Yoga Nidra and meditation.
In 2016, after living and practicing a 1 year residential program at Upaya Zen Center, she is certified to educate, train and teach: G.R.A.C.E© a Process of Compassion-based Interactions in the Clinical Encounter & BEING WITH DYING a Contemplative End-of-Life Care Professional Training Program. She has the privileged and honored to have received Jukai by Roshi Joan Halifax.
She has taught her Survirvorship Series & Mindful movements for cancer patients on treatment at the ICU to ease secondary effects of chemotherapy and radiation in hospitals as part of the Integrative Medicine Team.

Are a combination of gentle, restorative and Hatha yoga poses which focuses on healing the body through slow, deliberate movements. Classes are deeply nurturing, suitable for all levels, especially those with chronic pain, or limitations. Modifications are provided for every pose, including props and chair poses for those who cannot find comfort on the ground.
